USS Abraham Lincoln left Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in Bremerton on Wednesday after a nine-month overhaul. The ship and its crew will spend about five days conducting sea trials before heading back to their Naval Station Everett homeport, according to the Navy.

The Lincoln left Everett in April 2009. A special year-in-review edition of the Penny Press, Lincoln's ship newsletter recaps what the crew was up to while the ship was in the yard.

Following its return to Everett, the aircraft carrier will gear up to rejoin the other ships and aircraft in its Carrier Strike Group 9 in preparation for its next deployment.
