Five anti-nuclear protesters who broke into Naval Base Kitsap-Bangor in November could face felony charges, reported the Kitsap Sun and Central Kitsap Reporter. Misdemeanor charges against them were dropped, but could be re-filed if more serious charges are not.

The Kitsap County Veterans Advisory Board is offering a free 10-week program for veterans and their spouses about how to run a business. The course starts Jan. 23. Attendance at one of three orientation sessions offered before then is required.

Kitsap Sun's Road Warrior addressed problems with garage door remotes near Navy bases.

The Blue Angels' Jet No. 7 made a quick stop to coordinate with Seafair officials about the group's scheduled appearance at this August's air show in Seattle.

A letter posted on the Fleet and Family Readiness-Everett Facebook page invites Navy parents to volunteer with the Lake Stevens School District. The first of 141 homes opened last August in a new public-private venture housing development for Navy Region Northwest in Lake Stevens.

Rep. Rick Larsen toured construction projects at Naval Station Everett this week.

Admiral Mike Mullen, chairman of the Joint Chiefs, appeared on The Daily Show Wednesday night and talked about the sacrifices made by service members and their families during two ongoing wars. See the full clip on Hulu.

Military children are eligible to enter their artwork, writing and videos for the Military Child Education Coalition's Call for the Arts: The Art of Being a Military Child. The postmark deadline is Feb. 26.

The Navy and Coast Guard are looking for wounded warriors to compete on a team at the inaugural Warrior Games, May 10-14.
